Brenda explores island geographies, places with borders within urban landscapes. An interplay of photography, drawing, print and writing give articulation to the projects. She applies research and documentation to explore issues of identity and isolation. Interaction with certain physical landscapes are subjects used to convey a human and poetic response. Previous years in social work supporting a diverse range of people underpin her practice and interest in the human condition.

Brenda is chair & curator of the annual arts weekend Lady Bay Arts Trail in Nottingham NG2. The event hosts artists and designers from the East Midlands in homes, gardens, studios and local businesses.

Brenda is based in Nottingham and holds a Masters in Fine Art from Nottingham Trent University (2012), BA Hons in History & Theory of Art (1978) and a Masters in Social Work (1981) from University of Sussex.
